This sacred journey brings you to the epitome of the Samburu and Maasai heartlands, cultural and ecological ecosystems. Get to experience and connect with the lifestyle, cultures, and nature of the Maa and Samburu communities. Learn about impact of climate change on the Maasai and Samburu. Understand their struggles and how their culture, identity and love of nature has shaped Kenya as a country.
<p>Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(JKIA) and you will be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. </p><p>Take some time to rest, then have dinner and briefing on the sacred journeys adventure and its whole purpose of enabling individual souls reconnect with nature and indigenous spirituality. </p>
<p>Have breakfast and depart to Mt Kenya Forest and National Park (approx 3-4hrs drive). The Maasai call Mt. Kenya “Oldonyo Keri”, meaning the spotted Mountain due to the snow-dotting effect on its peaks. </p><p>We shall spend 3 (three) full days of reconnecting with nature and learning about sacred plants, Maasai rituals and history. </p><p>Other optional activities include; hiking and trekking on the peaks of the mountain. The highest peaks of Mt. Kenya are named after Maasai spiritual leaders: Mbatiany (Batian), Nelliang (Nellion) and Lenana.</p><p></p><p>Dinner and overnight is at the camping sites; accompanied by activities such as story telling and bonding around the bonfire. </p>
<p>This another forest at North-easterly lowland of Mt. Kenya. It is also named by the Maasai Enkare O Ntare (The river for goats/sheep) and it is great for nature walk, natural swimming pools, canopy walks.</p><p>You'll spend 2 days exploring the adventure activities the forest has to offer. </p><p>Bush camping and all meals provided.</p>
<p>After Breakfast venture yet into another forest, an ancestral homes to the indigenous Yaaku – a hunter gatherer community that has lived side by side with the Maasai. They are a Cushitic community who originally hunted and gathered berries, wild honey and edible plants from the forest, as a form of livelihood. We shall spend the night camping with them and they will tell us their stories and walk through the forest where they have their bee hives. We experience their night life.</p>
<p>The Yaaku community operate a small eco lodge on the fringes of the Mukogodo forest and the Il Ngwesi section of Laikipia Maasai also run an award winning eco lodge nestled on a small hill on the base of easter segment of Rift-valley.</p><p>We shall do nature walks, visit cultural manyattas, have sun downers, day or night game drives in the community operated conservancy. They have swimming pools and bandas contructed out of drift woods and powered by solar. </p><p>We get to spend at the lodges which gives back financial benefits among other incentives to the local communities. </p>
<p>The Ewaso Ng'iro river is known as the “Hand of God”. </p><p>It supports over 10 nomadic tribes communities and it’s the only major river in the dry lands of northern Kenya. It also is support the diverse wildlife species in the ecosystem. Currently, the river is facing threats from over extraction of water upstream for agriculture, climate change and pollution. </p><p>get to camp by the river, experience nature and have first hand experience of the day to day lifestyle of the Maa people who depend on the river for all their water needs from domestic to livestock. </p><p></p><p>We shall have a nature walk to the Mt. Ololokwe; a sacred mountain of the Samburu people. Get to walk and feel the Samburu soils with Samburu warriors, hiking the mountain is optional.</p><p>End the trip with a half day game drive in the Samburu Game reserve. </p><p>Rest and prepare for departure to Nairobi. </p>
<p>Travel back to Nairobi in readiness of your flight back home. </p>

We require a completed booking form and a deposit of approximately 30% of the total trip cost, depending on the trip. The person signing the booking form does soon behalf of all other persons mentioned on the form. A contract exists when we issue written confirmation of your booking. We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.
If you cancel your trip: Cancellation of your trip must be made in writing to us and be signed by the person whose name and signature appears on the booking form. As we may incur considerable costs if you cancel, we will retain your deposit and may impose the following cancellation charges: 31 -15 days before departure – 80%, 14 days or less before departure – 100%. We strongly advise you to take out suitable insurance to cover such potential losses. If we cancel your trip: If we are forced to cancel your trip for reasons beyond our reasonable control (“force majeure”) we will offer you the choice of a full refund of any monies paid or an alternative trip. The Company will accept no liability for any costs incurred by you for anything other than the monies paid to us for the trip.
You must be adequately insured for any trip as a condition of booking. This should include cover for personal accident and medical expenses, including repatriation, and you are strongly advised to include cover for cancellation, curtailment and loss of property. Please carry a copy with you on the trip and leave a copy with a relative in your country of origin.
